Amaterasu is a deusphage and large sized Aragami, first introduced in God Eater. Just like all deusphages, the Amaterasu was introduced as a DLC content. It returns as a regular Aragami in the other games.

Norn Database

The following information can also be found via descriptions of the Aragami found in the NORN Terminal's database.

God Eater Burst

A giant Type 1 Deusphage. A statue of a goddess rests where its head is believed to be, giving it a godly aura. Origin is unknown.

Its large fireballs, lasers, and tentacles have the most dangerous range and power, but blade attacks are effective against the statue of the goddess. Use stun grenades and concentrate your attacks to find the moment of victory.

God Eater Resurrection & God Eater 2 Rage Burst

A massive Type 1 Deusphage. A statue of a goddess is embedded in its head, giving it a rather holy appearance. Its origins are unknown.

It attacks with huge fiery orbs, lasers, and its tentacles. Boasting both range and firepower, it is a fearsome foe. However, as the statue is weak to melee attacks, staggering it with stun grenades and focusing on its head will be your salvation.

ATK Element: Blaze
Weaknesses: Spark

God Eater Resonant Ops

A Type 1 Deusphage Aragami with a huge body that is prohibited for contact. A statue of a goddess is enshrined in what appears to be the head, giving it an air of divinity. The place of origin is unknown.

It is equipped with divine protection that weakens all attacks and further expands its own attack range. ``Prominence Cannon``, which is fired under certain circumstances such as when HP is low, not only ignores your resistance and defense, but also has the property of promoting the activation of your biggest attack, ``Yatano Kagami``. If you can block Amaterasu's special actions and shake off her divine protection, her weak point lightning-based slashes will be even more effective.

Species: Ouroboros
Type: Deusphage type

ATK Type: Blaze
Weakness: Spark

Trivia

  • Amaterasu is the Sun Goddess of Shinto mythology.
  • In God Eater Burst, Amaterasu is only seen and fought in two missions (Difficulty 8 and Challenge Missions), both of which are located on the same stage (Aegis Island).
  • The orange markings, especially on the goddess, might be a reference to any of the 13 Celestial Brush gods from the game 'Ōkami'.
