A Show of Strength
The name Balmung comes from the name of the legendary sword used by the hero Siegfried in the Nibelungenlied.
Balmung is one of the two Ashborns that managed to appear in an animated cutscene, the other Ashborn being Anubis. The animated cutscene is shown in between Rank 4 during Phym's rescue mission, with Hugo Pennywort being the featured character.
Balmung is the only Ashborn that has its first encounter battle stopped midway.
