Using Engage with Hugo

The Engage System is a gameplay feature introduced in God Eater 3. It procs whenever the player and an NPC, or two players combat closely together. This grants them buffs. An “Engage Percentage” gauge rises up whenever you fight together with a teammate within a certain range. Once the gauge is full, you can trigger an “Engage Effect.” All buffs will be shared amongst Engaged players, including Acceleration Trigger.

Engage can only be activated during combat. Crafting Engage Effects require Engage Points (EP), which can be acquired by playing Assault Missions.

After the implementation of the v2.00 update, the Core Engage system is introduced in the game. It is an improved version of Engage, unlocked after increasing an NPC's Sync Rate to 100% and clearing their correspondong Extra Episode.

A resonance phenomenon that occurs between AGEs and other God Eaters.

When God Eaters remain in close proximity during battle, their mutual resonance slowly increases. Engage can be activated once this resonance has reached its maximum value. While Engage is active, God Eaters share their characteristics with each other. However, sharing more than one person's characteristics would overload a God Eater, so Engage is only ever used on a one-on-one basis.

Core Engage

A more powerful type of Engage that activates when the two people involved connect on a deeper psychological level. Unlocks when two God Eaters' resonance sync rate reaches its maximum. Compared to a standard Engage, a Core Engage provides enhanced effects and may even grant new effects, all while being performed under the same condition as its standard counterpart.

Trivia

• While Engage is limited only to two people in the game, Phym was able to engage with the whole party during the latter part of the story-exclusive fight against the Odin.
