God Eater Wiki

Marduk is a Psion, a large wolf-like Aragami first appearing in God Eater 2. Its boosted front legs (which can generate devastating fire-powered attacks), its fast and hard to track movements, and its ability to induce rage in all nearby Aragami makes it a force to be reckoned with.

Norn Database

The following information can also be found via descriptions of the Aragami found in the NORN Terminal's database.

God Eater 2

The Marduk is a wolf-like Aragami which resembles the Garm and is one of the new invasive species.  Its front legs are stone-armored, and it possesses red cape-like organs similar to those of a Vajra's.  It can generate a howling pulse that rallies other Aragami in the area. It is also able to release blaze energy with its front legs. Like real-life wolves, a Marduk is usually seen travelling with a small "pack" of Garms.

God Eater 2 Rage Burst

A divine Garm psion with white hair and red tentacles. Capable of calling other Aragami using its resonance ability, and when agitated capable of agitating other Aragami. Use a stun grenade and order your allies to split up in order to divide and conquer enemies.

Like other Garm, it can control heat and has a long range of attacks, posing a threat even to those with plenty of combat ability.

ATK Element: Blaze
Weaknesses: Freeze

God Eater Resonant Ops

A psion species of the genus Garm, characterized by its white body hair and red tentacles. It uses its resonance ability to summon Aragami on the battlefield, and when activated, it also activates other Aragami.

Depending on the battlefield, large Aragami may join and a melee may ensue. To avoid all Aragami activating at the same time, it is recommended to eliminate other Aragami before Marduk activates.

Species: Garm
Type: Psion type

ATK Type: Blaze
Weakness: Freeze

God Eater 3

A large Aragami with white hair and red tentacles. It is known for being capable of calling other Aragami using its powerful resonance ability. Use a stun grenade and order your allies to split up in order to divide and conquer any groups of enemies called this way. Like a wolf, it is highly mobile. It uses this to its advantage by dashing across the battlefield and delivering devastating attacks with its gauntlets.

-Summary of Activated Abilities
When a Marduk activates, it also forcibly activates all nearby Aragami. Because of this, unless other Aragami are targeted and destroyed first, chances of chaotic and deadly battle are high. When fighting an activated Marduk, teamwork is key.

Trivia

  • Marduk is the sun god in Babylonian mythology.
  • It seems to be a corruption of the wolf symbol used for the God Eater series' loading cursor and the Fenrir mark as the massive wolf creature of Norse Mythology.
  • The Marduk is the flagship Aragami for God Eater 2.  In the game, there is a specific Marduk that the Protagonist scars on the left side of its skull, leaving a trademark scar that is known througout media. Interestingly, this same scarred Marduk appears in a number of DLC missions.
  • In God Eater 3, Marduks still appear despite there are no more Red Rain to produce Psions. They are the only returning Psion-type Aragami in the game.
