Ryo Kagami is a character and the main protagonist of God Eater: The Spiral Fate, which is also the only media where he appears so far. Although Yuu Kannagi is the canonical protagonist, Ryo is chronologically the first protagonist in God Eater series.

Ryo is a proactive, intelligent and kind leader that always puts his teammates' lives before his own.
Appearance[]
Ryo is an 18-year-old young adult with dark blue, short hair and blue eyes. He wears a blue Fenrir Formal Uniform that consists a blue jacket over a white shirt, a black glove on his left hand, some black pants with two white pockets strapped on both of his thighs, and a pair of dark grey boots with blue accents.
Ryo spend most of his time in the manga's Volume 1 have bandages on his wounded head, and in Volume 2 he's mostly seen not wearing his blue jacket.
In the final two chapters before he fight the mutated Fenrir, Ryo ripped his white shirt off revealing his black tank top, and the sleeves of his ripped white shirt turned into an improvised bandana.

- Ryo Kagami was designed after the likeness of his creator, Rokuro Saitou, the author of The Spiral Fate manga.
- His existence clashes with alternate manga continuity character, Yuu Kannagi. Ryo might not be considered manga canon as Yuu's appearances and inclusion as a name in the God Eater series are in the vast majority of media, compared to Ryo's single appearance in The Spiral Fate.
- In Japanese, Ryo means "distant" or "reality".
- Ryo's surname, (加賀美, Kagami), has a meaning that simply translates to "one who adds beauty and joy".
