Mission List[]
Anomaly Tips[]
It's best to pick Loadouts that synergise with as many Ash Anomalies as possible in a single mission.
Damage Boost: Consecutive attacks
- Combos can be continued through steps, dives and jumps. Devours will reset the combo count. Any sequence of attacks that would be boosted by the Combo Master Burst plugin will be boosted by this anomaly past hit 5.
- The boosts are counted through attacks done after Long Blade's Zero Stance once the hit count exceeds 5. Other attacks that loop or quickly reset combos such as Parrying upper or back-flips can also work. However, Zero Stance will also Restore stamina whereas most other combo loopers drain stamina.
- For Biting Edge, switching to and from Glaive mode mid-combo also maintains the combo count. The Transform BCU makes this restore stamina, allowing a combo to last for longer with proper usage.
- Burst arts that root you in place and let you attack repeatedly such as Berserk Crush, Mercy Spiral, Jormungandr and Asura Slash can be effective here but should be used with care.
Damage Boost: Aragami Near
- The distance for the gun damage boost is actually larger than the red area around the Aragami so you can reap the benefits without taking the damage. A selection of low cost bullets and custom bullets can help in sustaining fire and keeping you outside of the damage field while still on the offensive for as long as possible. As such, Assaults and Rayguns using their cheapest rapids/beams shine during this anomaly.
Damage Boost: Target Debuffed
- The Vile Jaw BCU for Short blades is the most effective melee option for ailments and Shotgun L Slugs are one of the most efficient Standard Ailment Bullet so they are both solid picks for dealing with this anomaly.
- Make sure you inflict the ailments during this anomaly to actually reap the benefits. Installing skills for multiple ailments can make this easier. Just make sure that the Target Aragami is not immune to the ailments you are running.
- Ailment focused custom bullets can be a great help here as well.
- Traps can be used to inflict ailments if necessary but the number of traps you can bring is very limited.
- To make it easy to inflict ailments on Aragami in this anomaly, try shooting ailment bullets in the previous Ash Anomaly to the point where you feel like the Aragami is close to being debuffed.
Damage Boost: Seconds In air
- D>>Acrobat and the Raw Courage BCU work best with this Ash Anomaly.
- Solid use of dives will allow you to approach and defend while airborne. Installing skills that reduce stamina cost for dives may prove useful.
- Short Blades have the easiest time maintaining aerial offense thanks to air steps. As such they are a solid pick for this anomaly.
- Burst arts that allow for extended Air time such as Fanatic's scythe, Lunatic force, Petal Frenzy, Stigmata and Licht Kreuz/Sylpheed are all solid picks.
Damage Boost: AT Active
- Ideal Acceleration Triggers for this anomaly are any that can be triggered quickly and/or last for a long time. Perfect guard based AT such as P>>Performer, P>>Assassin as well as guard based AT such as G>>HP Healer, G>>Guardian or G>>Cataphract are all great picks for those who are proficient in defending against attacks.
- OP recovery AT such as OP Healer/ OP snatcher are also solid pick as they can easily manipulated to remain active consistently and can also be triggered while doing support.
- AT transferred through Engage will also count for this anomaly so setups that promote longer and more frequent Engages or reduce AT falloff such as the Partner Burst Plugin as well as the Unshaken Will and Trigger Happy Engage effects may prove effective in a team scenario.
Damage Boost: Burst Gauge 50%+
- Frequent devours are needed to stay on top of this anomaly. Knowing safe windows for quick devours will make maintaining the >50% burst much easier.
- PGC is a Solid pick for BCU for this anomaly as it allows for players to keep their burst high with consistent Perfect Guards.
- Installing the Burst Install skill will increase Burst Duration and is a great option because of that.
Damage Boost: Burst Art Effects:
- Since the anomaly is only effective for Burst Arts, try picking some of the strong and simple Burst Art Effects to use to pair up with your Burst Arts. Burst arts that fire their Burst Art Effect after a single fast/repeatable action such as Cutting Backflip, Adrenaline Rush, Sky Cleaver, Rising shock, Gunner's Paradise and most step burst arts are the most effective options.
Low ST Damage Boost:
- Using the Vigor Install Skill can help you reach half stamina easier, which is useful for the Low ST Damage Boost anomaly. Note that you’ll have to conserve your stamina at that point since it will be easier for you to go out of breath from the lower amount of stamina you have.
Aragami Ability Boost: After Devour
- D>>Wonder and D>>Mutation synergise with Aragami Abilities based anomalies as they are triggered by frequent devours and either add Aragami Abilities to Melee attacks or Boosts Gun damage further.
Max HP 50: No OP/ST Usage
- The Max HP 50: No OP/ST Usage anomaly also removes the stamina reduction from guarding so tower shields will not only take no damage, but also not drain stamina on any successful block. Just be careful if it's paired with Perfect guard only anomalies.
Max OP/ST: 50
- Lower Stamina would mean that you‘ll recover from out of breath more quickly.
- Ray Guns are an effective choice when about to deal with this anomaly as OP Reserves are not affected by the ash anomaly. This is mainly useful for Long Blade users as they would have to use some additional OP for carrying out Impulse Edge.
No Stamina Regen
- The lack of stamina regen can be offset by Long Blades Zero Stance and it's impact can be mitigated with the Deep Breath BCU.
- If you can manipulate your stamina well, the 11th Hour install skill can be utilized well here since stamina will not regen above 25% if you need to stop attacking.
- The proximity damage bonus for Guns is quite potent and all gun types can benefit greatly from it. Even Snipers can deal large amounts of damage on aragami with weakpoints that can be hit at close range such as Dyaus Pita's legs (when enraged) or it's tail. Gunplay is also a means of attack that can be utilised with minimal stamina usage.
Guarding: Perfect Guards Only
- The mastery of Perfect Guarding can be super beneficial since you can use the anomaly to your outmost advantage as the damage boost for this ash anomaly is ridiculously high.
- The PGC burst control unit is a very good choice for this anomaly as it means that perfect guards will not only increase your burst level but also restore your burst gauge, making it far less likely for you to run out.
Damage Taken: Corruption
- Tower Shields are the safest shield type to deal with Damage Taken: Corruption as it is the only shield that will not give you the Corruption debuff when carrying out normal guards as it nullifies damage. If you are confident enough with perfect guarding attacks with Shield or Buckler, it shouldn’t be much of a problem to use these shield types.
No Items
- Using G>>HP Healer or G>>HP Snatcher works well in this anomaly as its regenerative capabilities help you return to your full power if your health is cut down. Burst Arts such as Bloody Claw, Soul Eater and Lifestealer Claw are great alternatives to be used as well.
- Having Relaxed installed on your gear will make the always active feeding grounds more effective, allowing you to regain HP faster and re-apply the damage buff.
- When in Fenrir HQ Outskirts: Stronghold be aware that there are no feeding grounds to take advantage of. This combination is in two separate missions.
