This is a revised tier list based on further testing with every weapon type. A lot of things are going to shift around, but the core of the upper tiers is going to remain largely the same.
Biting Edge: The only reason I'm not rating this at S++ or SS now is because that'd skew the curve. But couple the BE with Deep Breath (BRT 13mm BCU) and, at burst 3 and 150 ST, you can get ~18 seconds of Halo Assault spam with only 1.5 seconds of recovery time. If you're a MADMAN, you can run minimum ST for less attack time but even less recovery time. Deep Breath makes this weapon aggressive to the point of an angry ex-girlfriend. BRT is mandatory, obviously—AIR might seem tempting, but Petal Frenzy actually lifts you up, meaning you can't lengthen…

Figure I'd do what I do best and apply my analytical abilities to trying to work out some semblance of a tier list for the melee weapons in GE3. Note that this is based primarily my own experiences, with a bit of input from others on the discord.
In order of frequency of use, I've played Biting Edge, Heavy Moon, Long Blade, Buster Blade, Short Blade, Variant Scythe, Charge Spear, and Boost Hammer. As such, this list may and likely will change as I use the latter few more.
I will be judging weapons on the following categories: overall damage potential (plainly, how much damage the weapon is capable of dealing), utility (things like mobility, auxiliary actions, etc.), Burst Arts (the damage potential and utility of BAs specifically), and sur…Read more >
Will put everything I find here. Updated as I go. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!
IF AN ASHBORN'S DEVOUR KILLS YOU, YOU CANNOT BE RESUSCITATED, AND YOU WILL AUTO-RESPAWN. ADDITIONALLY, IF YOU FALL WHILE SUFFERING FROM CORRUPTION (status effect incurred when devoured), THEN YOU WILL ALSO AUTO-RESPAWN! BE CAREFUL!!!
NOTE: PERFECT GUARDING AN ASHBORN'S DEVOUR WILL CANCEL IT OUT. NORMAL GUARDS WILL NOT WORK!!!
Axe Raider: Troll/Beast
Blast Spider: Arachne/Argyro. They can inflict venom with their breath.
Fallen Axe Raider: Surtr. They're blaze and can fling lava.
Barbarius: Gaoh/Gore. freeze.

Nemain: Oreb/Corvid. Their feather storm attacks inflict defens…Read more >
This is kinda overdue, and I'm not the first person to beat the Crimson Orochi this time, but I figure I might as well make an incredibly-easy-to-understand guide to my Crimson Orochi tactics for guaranteed quick and painless clears.
This should be your setup, or something similar:
Ci Cerca, to my knowledge, has the highest raw Crush value of any gun in the game, so your options are either that or a fully-upgraded Iblis (Demiurge blast gun) for the attribute bonus).
Deicide is the key component here, as it gives you the necessary Blood Rage pledges.
Trigger Happy is necessary, which is why Goddess of War's Gun and/or Ci Cerca should be used (I deleted the skill containing Trigger Happy from my Ci Cerca due to its downsides, so that's why I nee…

I did something like this back when the Japanese version came out, but now that the English version is out (in NA), I figured I'd write up another article where I discuss the different Predator Styles and their comparative effectiveness.
So, without further ado!
Bändiger: Easy S. Lets you close distances like a champ and grants superarmor while dashing. Charge time is a little long, but not enough to be noticeable, and the 100% Burst gauge granted is a definite plus.
The Dragon: Another solid Charge devour. Good not only for its forward reach but also for its sideways and vertical reach. Great for pestering Aragami that are hanging out in the lava in the Infernal Subway and are out of reach of your melee attacks.
Orca: The best PS for mult…
